Warehouse Lien Act- A BC Provincial Statute
Warehouse Liens are helpful when collecting outstanding storage fees, moorage etc.
The necessary documents – a Warrant and Notice of Seizure are prepared. A demand is made for the payment of the storage arrears plus the applicable bailiff fees, if payment is not made then the subject asset(s) are placed under seizure – The required legal advertisements are placed in the legal section of the local newspaper on two separate occasions advertising the required information as detailed in the Warehouse Lien Act. The asset is usually sold by public auction
